    URL: http://www.susankramer.com/moving.html

    Description:
This site sequentially teaches rhythmic body movements that can be expanded and combined into patterns. It has easy to follow directions and illustrations, allowing a teacher with little dance experience to sequentially teach rhythmic body movements to a young audience. Academic focus activities are offered that tie body movement in with both Language Arts and Mathematics.

    Curriculum Tips:

    Primary:
This unit is an excellent source of activities for teaching basic body movements, sequencing and spatial concepts and tempo and rhythmic principles to students in grades K-3. The activities are sequential and are easy to follow. Instruction may be offered in both whole group and small group. The lessons presented could be easily adapted for students with special needs. Body movement is universal, so students in ELA/LEP programs would benefit. One of the lessons includes illustrations of the sign language alphabet. This alphabet could be used to reinforce ELA/LEP students grasp of the English alphabet as kinesthetic learning helps reinforce concepts.
